Help Phoenixville Mom Win Patch Contest

Ashley Pearce is the winner of the Phoenixville "Best Mom" contest. Now she's in the running to win the grand prize package in our Patch Mother's Day contest.

Ashley spoke highly of her own mom but has nominated her boyfriend's mom, who she describes as her "second mom."  Ashley writes of how her nominee lost her son in a tragic car accident when he was 24. Ashley says her "second mom" turned the tragedy into something good to honor her son's memory: a scholarship program.

"The fund grew so much that instead of giving away one scholarship like last year, they are giving away two.  The amount of entries more than quadrupled.  Aside from fundraising to friends, family, and local businesses she also planned a beef and beer to raise money for the scholarship.  The event is expected to bring close to 200 people."
