Janet M. Durham, 73, Passed Away on a Tuesday

Obituaries for the week of May 14.

William Dalton, 73

William Dalton, 73, of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in his residence.  Born in Granville, New York, he was the son of the late William M. and Lucille (Scholl) Dalton.

Mr. Dalton was employed as a mechanical and chemical engineer for the former SCM Allied Paper in Phoenixville for over 25 years and for Frasier Paper in Maine for over 20 years.  Bill served as a Second Lieutenant, Company B, 205th Armor, in the New York Army National Guard.  He was a Third Degree member of Father Stephen C. Gulovich Knights of Columbus Council 343, Granville.  Bill loved his family, fishing, gardening, and especially reading.  A true humanitarian, he was loved by all.

Mr. Dalton is survived by his wife, Nicoletta (Darius) Dalton, of Gorham, Maine; children, Lori wife of Doug Syrylo, of Phoenixville, Keri Dalton fiancé of Scott Stephens, of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, William Michael II husband of Angela Dalton, of Cumberland, Maine, and Jeremy Dalton and his fiancé Samantha Morrison, of Phoenixville; grandchildren, Josh, Doug, Jamie, Samantha and one grandchild on the way; and sisters, Carol Oates, Mary Dudla, and Margaret Davies, all of New York.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill’s funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Monday, May 14, 2012, at 11:00 am.  Officiating will be the Rev. John J. Newns.  Friends will be received from 9:30-11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Bill’s name to the Phoenixville Area Senior Center, 153 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.  Condolences may be offered online at www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.

Frances Hunder, 86

Frances (Losynsjka) Hunder, 86, wife of Petro Hunder, of Mont Clare, PA, died suddenly at home on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.

Mrs. Hunder was born in Yaboniw, Ukraine. She was the daughter of the late Ivan and Helena Losynsjka.

She came to the United States in 1949 and became a citizen on March 26, 1965.

Mrs Hunder was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Phoenixville.

Mrs. Hunder enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, going to the casinos and was a loyal Phillies fan.

In addition to her husband of 57 years, she is survived by: Daughters, Vera Wisler, Pottstown; Mary Ann Praweckyj, Reading; Sons, John Praweckyj, Pottstown;Pete Hunder Jr. (wife Cathy), Pottstown; and very loving daughter-in-law, Marie Praweckyj of Phoenixville; Sister, Anna Losynsjka, one nephew and three cousins all in Ukraine; Five Grandchildren and nine Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by son, Russell Praweckyj, and grandson, Patrick Simes.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA, on May 15, 2012 at 11:00 am.

Burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday morning from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent the Phoenixville Hospital Cancer Center, 824 S Main Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.

Janet M. Durham, 73

Janet M. (Meszaros) Durham, 73, joined with her mother and father on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Eugene J. and Mary (Hilosky) Meszaros. She spent her entire life living in the Great Valley area and worked for many years at Genn Electric Company in Frazer. She was an active member of Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church in Exton. Her hobbies included flower gardening, bird watching, spending time with her family, and vacationing in the Poconos and at the Jersey Shore.

She will be greatly missed by her children, Charlene Durham of Malvern, Chris Durham of Douglassville and John Durham of Malvern, and their spouses; her grandchildren, Christopher and Paige Durham; and her faithful companion, Benji. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, in Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church, Lincoln Highway and Ship Road, Exton. Burial will follow in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Phoenixville.

Betty R. Mashman, 77

Betty R. (Wise) Mashman, 77, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Monday, May 7, 2012 in Sanatoga Center, Sanatoga, PA.

Born in Chester Springs, PA she was the daughter of the late John B. and Alma (Leopold) Wise.

Betty worked at the former J.R. Hollingsworth in Phoenixville, PA.

She was a member of Phoenixville Senior Center, and the Phoenixville Chapter AARP.

Surviving are: Daughter, Diane Zielinski of Chester Springs, PA; Daughter, Susan wife of Mark Cagle of Gerrardstown, WV: Daughter, Gail Hemmer of Longwood, FL; Son, Richard Brian Mashman of Phoenixville, PA; Son, Duane Mashman of Phoenixville, PA; 8 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Lewis Wise of Geigertown, PA.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Helen Shutes and brother, John A. Wise.

Relatives and Friends may call at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.

Burial will be private in Morris Cemetery.
