Kiwanis Club Holding Annual Holiday Parade

The route has been changed this year.

The Kiwanis Club of Phoenixville will be holding its annual Holiday Parade in Phoenixville on “First Friday”, December 7, 2012 beginning at 7 p.m. The parade route has been changed from prior years. This year’s parade will begin at the Justice Building on Bridge Street and continue on Bridge Street ending at Starr Street.

Santa Claus will arrive with the help of the Phoenixville Area High School Marching Band. The parade line-up also includes a Mummers string band, several floats from area civic and service groups. Area fire companies participate with decorated fire engines as they compete for the “Best Decorated Fire Engine” award. Approximately 25 children’s characters will also be in the parade.

The annual Phoenixville Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will take place at approximately 8:30 p.m. at the corner of Bridge and Main Streets. Afterwards, Santa will move to his house located at the Kiwanis Children’s Plaza on Bridge Street.
