Modular Classrooms Arrive at E. Pikeland Elementary

District opted for modular classrooms over building an addition.

Long before students return for fall classes new classrooms have arrived at East Pikeland Elementary School.

Five modular sections, each 72 feet long were delivered to the blacktop and field behind the school on Friday.

The last arrived just before 5 p.m. Escorts who drove the warning cars with "wide load" flags say the pieces will be for together to form a new modular building.

Not all neighbors were happy to see the pre-fab classrooms arrive. One took to Facebook to complain about the appearance of the gray paneled units and asked if others might soon wish the decision had been made to build an addition to the building instead.
