Phoenixville Hospital's Lawrence Jones 'Pharmacist of the Year'

The Pennsylvania Society of Health System Pharmacists honored him.

Lawrence D. Jones, pharmacy director at Phoenixville Hospital, has been named Pharmacist of the Year by the Pennsylvania Society of Health System Pharmacists (PSHP). The award recognizes “an individual with high moral character, who has made contributions to all aspects of the profession and is deserving of recognition for contributions to his institution, community and profession.”

A strong advocate for advancing pharmacy practice, Jones has been the pharmacy director at Phoenixville Hospital for more than three years. His career has spanned three decades and included hospital pharmacy leadership roles at several institutions in the Philadelphia area.

“Larry is extremely knowledgeable about a variety of different topics and he offers his insights without hesitation,” said PSHP President Nishaminy Kasbekar, BS, PharmD, FASHP. “He has served as a great mentor for many students and pharmacists with an unwavering dedication to education.”

In addition to his professional duties at Phoenixville Hospital, Jones is a consultant with the DEA Philadelphia office and currently leads the Pharmacy Guild Association that includes directors of pharmacy from the tri-state area. He was a former pharmacist advisor for the Bucks County Health and Indigent Care Program and has served as a PA delegate for the ASHP and is a Past President of PSHP.
