Phoenixville Hospital Taps New Head of Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Sidney Jacoby, who's been with the hospital since 2009, has taken over the post.

Phoenixville Hospital announces that Sidney M. Jacoby, M.D has been named Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery and Medical Director of its Limerick Surgery Center.  Dr. Jacoby is a member of the renowned Philadelphia and South Jersey Hand Centers and an assistant professor at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has been an active member of Phoenixville Hospital’s medical staff since 2009.  

Phoenixville Hospital is pleased to formalize Dr. Jacoby's expanding role. “Dr. Jacoby’s commitment to excellence, outstanding patient care and surgical advancement exemplify our hospital’s mission of bringing clinical leaders who provide exceptional care to our community,” said Phoenixville Chief Executive Officer Steve Tullman.

Dr. Jacoby was recently named one of a handful of "Young Leaders" in Hand Surgery by the American Association of Hand Surgery, the largest and most prestigious hand society in the United States.  An avid researcher, Dr. Jacoby has authored numerous scientific and clinical publications. His training included undergraduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency and fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University, where he received multiple awards for both patient care and research excellence.
