Phoenixville Named 'Hottest Up and Coming Neighborhood' of 2013

The borough's the best, who knew? (You probably did.)

Phoenixville, most borough residents will tell you, is on the rise. That view just got some serious validation.

By the calculus of the real estate mavens over at Redfin (via Philly.curbed.com), the borough was just named the Hottest Up and Coming Neighborhood of 2013.

Phoenixville was chosen from a pool that included Northern Liberties, Media, and West Mount Airy. The rankings were compiled on the basis of input from realtors and good old-fashioned housing data crunching.

In the words of one agent who was polled:

Phoenixville, a former industrial city on the Schuylkill River, became a ghost town when the steel corporations left in the 1980's. However, the Colonial Theater, featured in the movie, The Blob, would not be forgotten and with its renovation came an influx of former and new residents.

Congratulations Phoenixville! (And don’t let it go to your head.)

Read the Philly.curbed.com story here, or swing by Redfin for their explanation of the rankings.

The only thing that upsets me about this is now Harry Finster will be making his move back into town.

Calling Phoenixville one of the better "up and coming" neighborhoods is a fair statement as it aludes to the fact while there has been great improvement, there is still more work to be done.

Wow! See that 1, we CAN agree on something.

Don't try to bully women online who disagree with you or start talking trash to people who point out the reality in town (the good AND the bad) and you have no beef with me.

Oh, ok 1. I'm shakin' over here.

Here kitty kitty kitty.

No hard feelings 1. It's all in good fun but slow time is over here so I need to get back to selling my "odd shaped furniture" as you called it ............ cause we know how hard it is to find those rectangular shaped sofas and chairs.

Dave, from what I have heard it's nearly always "slow time" at hoopster home and you are barely staying open but since your store is no longer in town, that has nothing to do with this story. The fact you made so many foolish replies, in some cases answering your own questions, trying to bait me only serves to make you look pathetic. I'm sure it's good for business too! Good luck to you....my guess is your store will be out of business within 1-2 years maybe sooner but that is just one a$$hole's opinion. Let us know when hoopster home re-opens in Phoenixville. Maybe I'll stop by. Until then enjoy arguing with yourself online.

Thanks for the well wishes 1. You always know where my store is 1 if you want to ever stop in to kiss and make up you sweet lil thang. "I can't quit you 1......... I can't quit you". XO

1 you work? I thought you spent all day trolling on the Patch.

Realist - This coming from the guy that has 50+ posts on the patch attacking and stalking Lisa Longo (anyone can see by clicking on your profile). Thanks for yet another laugh. I have to turn off the opinion to be e-mailed when people reply to my posts on the patch because I just can't help watching train wrecks like you and it ends up wasting my time. Have a nice weekend stalker....

Realist January 19, 2013 at 04:04 PM
1 if we count the posts by 1 and Richard Hurtz your banned screen name I am sure you would be well over 100. I like to point out factual inaccuracies and unfortunately you and Miss Loopy Longo have more than most.
Harriet Finster January 22, 2013 at 06:24 PM
I wish my dear Harry would come back. He loved it here growing up, until the bullies got to him.
