Spring Into 5K Season in the Phoenixville Area

These runs make great target goals and many have proceeds going to good causes.

If you’ve fallen off your New Year’s goal a bit or if you’ve kept it up and need something more to shoot at, the Phoenixville area has a host of 5K runs coming up.

Some benefit Phoenixville-area non-profit organizations, so your hard work will go to a good cause. The courses vary and the details are all different, so here’s a handy list of upcoming runs. If you see any missing, please tell us in the comments or add it to our events listings.

Where: Runners will meet by the clock in Reeves Park.

When: Sat., March 19, 11:30 a.m.

Details: Costumes are encouraged and the course is relatively flat. The run will be followed up by a pub crawl, meeting at the Sly Fox in Kimberton.

Cost: Free

Where: Phoenixville Area High School

When: Sun., April 3, 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. 

Details: This run benefits Mom’s House of Greater Philadelphia, a non-profit in Phoenixville that helps out low-income single parents attending school full-time. The family fun walk is one mile, and if you sign up in advance you’ll get a race T-shirt.

Cost: $20 for individual, kids under 12 are $10, family pass is $35

When: Sat., May 14, 9 a.m.

Details: This event also include a one-mile fun walk. Proceeds from the race go to Good Samaritan Shelter in Phoenixville. Register by April 28 to snag a T-shirt for the race.

Cost: $22 in advance if postmarked by April 28; $25 the day of the race
