Stage is Set for Music Festival on the Canal

Recent flooding washed the stage down the Schuylkill Canal, but it's been repaired and is ready to go for tonight's festival.

It's been a rough bunch of weeks at the Schuylkill Canal and Lock 60.

The area flooded during Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, and just when the worst appeared to be past, a stage for the Folk 'N Fall Music Festival washed away down the canal, lodging on a tree splayed across the water.

"The entire park has been left battered and with debris strewn all over the area that needs to be cleaned up after the recent Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee extreme weather events," according to a press release. "During the floods, our stage floated down the canal and crashed into a tree fallen across the canal. We recovered the stage last weekend and are ready for the Folk 'N Fall Music Festival."

The festival benefits the Schuylkill Canal Association and will help with the clean-up of the area following the string of recent storms.
