Then and Now: Answer Edition

We reveal the answer to last week's photo challenge.

Phoenixville residents sure know the borough. Last week's edition of Then and Now, our weekly photo quiz, got a typically tremendous response, but the quickest to the draw was Patch user Ike. This was Ike's second win in a row.

Below, courtesy of the fine folks over at the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, is the answer:

The F. B. Neiman Funeral home moved to 241 First Avenue early in the 20th century. In the early 1970s, Forge Theatre acquired the former Funeral Home and after some remodeling, it became their permanent home. The building was sold earlier this year and will become a private residence. The Forge Theatre is moving to a new location in Port Providence.

I hope my fellow Phienixville residents will join me in boycotting all Forge shows now that they are abandoning the Boro for another county.

Just remember. The people who live in that area of first ave. dislike the traffic the theatre produced there on a residential street. The theatre will be able to spread their wings provide easy parking and accommodate a larger audience to see their great performances! Y be so negative??? Positive thoughts bring positive results!!

Good . They can spread their wings and fly to another state for all I care ! Now it there is room in tthe borough for either a wishy washy or a Nevada style brothel.

You're being petty, Betty.
