Updated: Winter Weather Advisory Canceled

Winter weather holds off.

Despite the overnight winter weather advisory, the Phoenixville area missed out on snow.

The National Weather Service canceled the advisory, which was supposed to be in effect until 10 a.m., at 6:40 a.m. Monday. The advisory noted 1-4 inches of snow and sleet could fall.

However, area resdients are waking up on this Presidents Day snow free. Temperatures rose above freezing earlier than predicted.

Local weather buff Tom Thunstrom of Royersford, who operates PhillyWeather.net, had it right.

“Any accumulations of snow will be minor, likely on the coating side at most, perhaps nothing more than a few slush piles on the car,” Thunstrom wrote in his forecast on Sunday.
