Halloween Blood Drive at TCHS Pickering

Fake blood is easy to come by on Halloween, but we need your help with the real thing. Stay one step ahead of vampires by donating yours at the TCHS Pickering Campus blood drive. Did you know one pint of blood can save up to three lives? There's no better treat to give on Halloween!

The blood drive is hosted by Health Occupations high school students in the TCHS Pickering Campus gymnasium. According to instructor Donna Dietrich, there are typically between 30-35 donors. The last blood drive was hosted in August.

"Students benefit from hosting the blood drives by recruiting donors here at the school, volunteering to help donors with the registration process and assisting donors at the canteen after they have completed their donations - which includes observing for any issues that may occur," she said. In preparation for the drive, the students are trained by the Red Cross as volunteers and learn more about the reasons people may need to receive blood.

You can register to donate on the American Red Cross website by searching by location (Technical College High School) or by date in zip code 19460.
