Phoenixville Jaycees 4th Annual Burn Off the Bird 5k and 1-mile Family Fun Walk

Thanksgiving is a time for eating, often times much more
than we should.  We all know how hard it
can be to pass up that second piece of pumpkin pie or extra helping of
stuffing.  The Phoenixville Jaycees can

help you take care of some of those extra calories with their fourth annual

Burn Off the Bird 5k and 1-mile Fun Walk on Saturday, Nov. 30 starting 9 a.m. at Stepping Stone Education Center, 475 Grant Street, Phoenixville.

Pre-registration for the race is available through
Active.com until Friday, Nov. 29 for $25. Race day registration is available for $30 and shirts will be available while supplies last. Individual registration for the 1-mile walk/fun run is $10.  Family registration for the 1-mile walk is

$25.

This year’s course takes runners around the scenic area of
the Phoenixville’s north side and is similar to the race held last year.  There are some rolling hills that will definitely help burn some extra calories. There will be a water station at the halfway point of the course.Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 men and women overall,
as well as top 3 men/women in the following age groups (no duplication of awards): 12 & under, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 &over.

Race day check-in and race day registration will take place

at Stepping Stone Education Center starting at 8 a.m.  There will also be a vendor on site.

Timing for the race is done by The
Athlete’s Closet in West Chester, Pa.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to

the Phoenixville Parks and Recreation Department.
