Ursinus College International Film Festival: "Himizu"

Ursinus College’s International Film Festival, which runs throughout the fall semester, continues with Himizu on Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in Olin Auditorium. The film, which is in Japanese with English subtitles, was directed by Sion Sono.

In the 2011 drama, which is set in Japan after the tsunami, a teenage boy (Shôta Sometani) tries to keep his family’s boat-rental business afloat, despite interference from his abusive father and a local crime boss seeking to collect on an outstanding debt.

The film will be followed by discussion and light refreshments in Olin 104.
