The Good Samaritan Shelter in Phoenixville has received a $50,000 grant from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation to establish an endowment fund.  The shelter was one of two organizations chosen through a competitive application process.  The program, called Phoenixville Incentive for Endowment (PIE), helps local non-profit organizations establish endowments.

Nate Hoffer, Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Shelter, said the shelter will have 1 year to raise $50,000 in order to receive the matching grant from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation.  The purpose of establishing the endowment fund is to ensure the shelter remains in operation in perpetuity. “We are so excited to receive this grant from the Phoenixville Community Health Foundation.  It is important that we take this necessary step to make sure we are a healthy and vibrant organization for many years to come, so that we can continue to help people when they are at their lowest point,” said Hoffer.
