Biden to Spend July Fourth in Pa.

The vice president will participate in Independence Day celebrations at Independence Hall in Philadelphia.

Vice President Joe Biden will spend the Fourth of July in the birthplace our nation's independence -- Philadelphia.

His office announced Monday that Biden plans to participate in July Fourth activities at Independence Hall, 6ABC reported.

Biden is not expected at some of the rowdier Welcome America events in the city, Philadelphia Magazine said.

The Celebration of Freedom Ceremony at Independence Hall will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. July 4. The event pays "tribute to the history of our great nation at Independence Hall with a patriotic and inspiring morning of music, speeches and a reading of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence," Visit Philly said.

This year’s event will also mark the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the 60th anniversary of the Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court decision, organizers said.

The rest of Biden's Fourth plans weren't clear Monday afternoon.
