Firebird Theatre Presents Audition Workshop for Kids and Teens

Firebird Theatre will hold class on preparing for musical theatre auditions

Phoenixville's Firebird Theatre is presenting "How to Survive an Audition", the second workshop in its Young Actors series, starting this month.  Kids and teens ages 8 - 18 will have lots of on-stage fun as they learn audition techniques  and other acting skills.

Workshop participants will learn everything they need to know to walk into an audition with confidence and stand out from the crowd.  Our professional theatre teachers will help students prepare one or two audition songs, master basic audition dance steps and practice script readings.  Theatre games, improvisation and other fun will be part of each workshop class too.

At the end of six weeks, students will have their own audition portfolio complete with professional head shot.  The workshop will be help on Saturday mornings, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at St John's Lutheran Church, 355 St John's Circle, Phoenixville PA, beginning January 19th through February 23rd.  Tuition is $120 and registration is due by January 12th.

Firebird's previous Young Actor's Workshop focused on musical theatre techniques and culminated in a Holiday Revue show attended by hundreds at the Colonial Theatre.  Firebird also produces an annual summer Broadway musical - past productions include The Wizard of Oz and Bugsy Malone.

The owners also own Dany's Diner formerly the Paoli Diner, so this will not be their firstRead More successful venture. The area where La Taverna was situated has been remodeled & opened up into a Sports Bar with multiple big screen televisions, a dining area, a spot for live entertainment, as well as umbrella-ed tables for outdoor dining. A full menu is available in the bar during the diner's operating hours and scales down into a bar menu with a fine selection. Currently, the establishment is at the mercy of Harrisburg & patiently awaiting the transfer of the liquor license. As you enter through the main doors under the portico, you are greeted by friendly hostesses & the most scrumptious desserts one has ever seen. The baking is done in house and the portions are enormous for the price. A coffee bar is open during the morning hours for those on the go. Taking the place of the exercise room one can now enjoy a full diner menu with breakfast served ALL day long. The menu also includes tasty Greek delicacies including spinach pie and pastichio. For a new establishment with a new wait staff & cooks, the food was served hot & was absolutely delicious. All of the servers were extremely efficient & friendly considering the pace at which the diner filled up. Cash & credit are accepted. Also heard that there will be rooms available for business meeting, private dinners, & small parties! Perfect location with parking, delicious food, & friendly staff/owners!
