Carol (Detwiler) Charlesworth, 61, Sang in Her Church Choir

Charlesworth passed away on December 26.

Carol (Detwiler) Charlesworth, age 61, long-time companion of Michael Kammerdiener, of Phoenixville passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in her home. Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Elwood Detwiler and Jane Detwiler Jones.

Carol was an active member of Charlestown United Methodist Church, serving on the Church Board and the United Methodist Women's Club, as well as singing in the choir. She worked as the Senior Legal Administrative Assistant for Siemens Med Health Services. Carol liked cooking, reading, and gardening. She also enjoyed music, watching movies, and traveling.

Carol is survived by one son, Stephen McGarr, husband of Kenneth Moynihan of Plainfield, NJ; two siblings, Susan Brauner of Hummelstown, PA and Mark Detwiler of Kimberton, PA; and step-father Robert, husband of Marian Jones of Hendersonville, NC.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her memorial service at the Charlestown United Methodist Church, 650 Church Road, Charlestown Village on Saturday, January 5, 2012 at 12:00 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Eric H. Woodworth. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received at the church Saturday morning from 11:00-12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Charlestown United Methodist Church, 650 Church Road, Malvern, PA 19355.
