Dale Bauer, 86, Served in World War II

Bauer passed away on January 6.

Dale Willard Bauer, age 86, born January 31, 1926, husband of the late Marilois Bauer, of Phoenixville, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in the Pennsburg Manor. Born in Duluth, MN, he was a son of the late Viola and Richard Tappenden.

Mr. Bauer was a member of Centennial Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kimberton from 1964-1984. He attended the University of Wisconsin, and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He worked for the Barcalounger Manufacturing Company for 45 years. Dale was the President and Chairman of the Board of the Tri Valley Home Furnishings Association from 1981 to 1984. He also was a member of the IHFRA for all of his professional career. Mr. Bauer was active with the Boy Scouts Troop 49 of Chester County for many years.

Mr. Bauer is survived by five children, Judith Carroll of Easton, CT, Deborah Milillo of Schwenksville, PA, Nancy, wife of Roger Ritchey of Harleysville, PA, David Bauer of Royersford, PA, and Jamie, wife of Chris Billy of Bethlehem; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville on Thursday, January 10, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Officiating will be the Rev. Janelle L. Krais. Burial will follow in the Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer. Friends will be received Thursday at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Special Dragons, Valley Forge Martial Arts, Inc., 2808 Audubon Village Drive, Audubon, PA 19403.
