Former Phoenixville C.C. President Dies at 85

He missed a major life rite of passage as a teenager to serve his country.

 

W. Scott Nosser, age 85, husband of the late Norma J. (Restani) Nosser, of Valley Forge, PA passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in the PowerBack Rehabilitation Center. Born in Greene, NY, he was a son of the late Walter and Marguerite (Herdman) Nosser.


Mr. Nosser served in the United States Navy, missing his High School graduation to enlist.

He was a past President of the Phoenixville Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf, loved the Phillies, and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan.


Mr. Nosser is survived by two daughters, Debi G. Nosser and Linda S. Nosser, both of Valley Forge, PA; one sister, Nancy Robinson of Maryland; one grandson, Christopher Scott Nosser, fiance of Samantha Costello; one great granddaughter, Madison Grace Nosser; and many nieces and nephews.

He was Friday in the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380. Condolences may be offered online by visiting www.PhoenixvilleFuneralHome.com.
