George R. Ruhlman, 87, Served in WWll

Ruhlman passed away on August 22.

George R. Ruhlman, of Phoenixville, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Parkhouse Providence Pointe at age 87.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late George and Anna (Schmidt) Ruhlman.  In his youth George was an accomplished bugler and he later served during World War II in the Navy Air Corp.   George worked for many years at the West Company in Phoenixville as a machinist until retiring.

He retired to The Villas, Cape May County, NJ where he spent most of his time fishing in the Delaware Bay with family and friends.  He was a longtime member of the Parkside United Church of Christ where he served on the church council.  He was also an active member of the VFW and American Legion.

He is survived by his sons Richard Ruhlman and David W. Ruhlman; sister, Marie Lohr; and grandsons Jake and Max Ruhlman.  He was also preceded in death by his companion, Helen Gall.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Parkside U.C.C., Main St. at Third Ave, Phoenixville, PA 19460. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. F. Russell Mitman.  Viewings will be held at Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Inc., Main St. at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Sunday evening from 7-8:30 PM and Monday morning from 9-9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Parkside UCC at the above address.  Online condolences may be offered at www.phoenixvillefuneralhome.com
