Harry VanHorn Jr., Royersford Fire Marshal

Harry E. VanHorn, Jr., 43, husband of Patricia A. (Coulter) VanHorn, of Royersford, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 28, 2012.

Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of Harry E. VanHorn, Sr. of Spring City, and the late Kathryn E. (Shronk) VanHorn.

He was the Assistant Director of Public Works for the Borough of Royersford. Harry was the Fire Marshall for the Borough of Royersford, and was also the coordinator for the borough's Emergency Management.

He was a member of Friendship Hook & Ladder, and Humane Fire Companies in Royersford.

He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mont Clare, PA.

Harry was an avid hand radio operator, and was a member of the 1.900 Group.

He loved boating, fishing, crabbing, and vegetable gardening.

Surviving in addition to his father and wife are two children, son Michael Coulter of Royersford; daughter, Brooke VanHorn of Royersford; sister, JoAnne wife of Matthew O'Hara of Spring City.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp & Gatcha Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 517 S. Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Green Tree Cemetery, Oaks. Relatives and Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
