Margaret Janson, 89, Earned a Doctorate from Temple

Janson passed away Monday morning.

Dr. Margaret (Gemmill) Janson, age 89, wife of Rev. Dr. William A. Janson, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of Audubon, PA, died Monday morning, July 16, 2012 in the Seasons Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA.  Born in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late W. Percival and Cornelia A. (Stahle) Gemmill. 

Mrs. Janson received her undergraduate from the Susquehanna University, and her doctorate in Education from the Temple University.  Mrs. Janson was a great support to her husband during his career, especially while he served as the former bishop of Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod of the Lutheran Church in America.  She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, chapter, BE.  Living a life of Faith, Love, Purity, Justice, Truth and adventure she will be missed by family and legions of friends. 

Mrs. Janson is survived by two children:  Sandra J., wife of William J. Spengel, of Chester Springs, PA, William A., husband of Lori Shmukler, of Warrington, PA, five grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Friday, July 27th, 2012 at 11:00 AM.  Officiating will be the Rev. Cynthia L. Krommes.  Burial will be held privately in the Augustus Lutheran Church Cemetery, Trappe, PA.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the St. John E.L.
