Marie Hennessy, 88, Worked as an Operator

Marie A. (Budnyk) Hennessy, age 88, wife of the late Thomas R. Hennessy, of Phoenixville, PA, formerly of Garrett Hill, PA died late Wednesday evening, August 1, 2012 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA.  Born in New York, NY, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Tesie (Kieryk) Budnyk.  Mrs. Hennesy grew up in Lebanon, PA and was a 1942 graduate of the South Lebanon High School.  She worked as a phone operator and retired from the Radnor School District.  She was a former member of the St. Thomas of Villanova Church.

Mrs. Hennessy is survived by five children:  Marie B., wife of the late James Lafferty, of Phoenixville, PA;  Kathleen M., wife of Gerry Graham, of Boca Raton, FL;  Thomas M., husband of Kimberly Hennessy, of Spring City, PA;  John M., husband of Maureen McOsker, of Chester Springs, PA;  Joan M., wife of Peter Eldridge, of Phoenixville, PA; fourteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Hennessy was pre-deceased by one brother and one sister. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service at the St. Thomas of Villanova, Rosemont Chapel, 1229 East Lancaster Avenue, Bryn Mawr, PA 19101 on Saturday, August 4th, 2012 at 11:00 AM.  Officiating will be the Rev. Arthur D. Johnson. Burial will be in the St. Denis Cemetery, Havertown, PA.  Friends will be received from 10:00 - 10:45 AM Saturday morning at the Rosemont Chapel.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in her name to the Phoenixville Senior Center, 153 Church Street, Phoenixville, PA 19460.
