Howard "Cal" Longacre Jr., 84

Howard J. "Cal" Longacre Jr., 84, husband of Helen (Fedchak) Longacre, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at home.

Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Howard J. and Anna (Olstafi) Longacre.

Cal was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, class of 1945.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He attended Drexel Institute of Technology.

He was a Customer Service Engineer for the National Cash Register Corp for 39 years, retiring in 1991.

He was an active member of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville, and served on the church board.

He was a member, and past President of St. Michael's Athletic Club, and was a huge fan of sports on all levels.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Tracey, wife of John Bilanin of Gilbertsville, PA; a son, H. John Longacre III and wife Samantha of Oxford, PA; three grandchildren, Andrew, Andrea and Bryan; and sister Emilie, wife of Richard McQuillen of New York City.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julia A. Longacre.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, Bridge and Starr Sts., Phoenixville, on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery, Mont Clare, PA.

A viewing will be held in the church on Saturday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name may be made to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 66, Phoenixville, PA 19460.

Mary Beth Kordek, 69

Mary Beth (Smoyer) Kordek, 69, wife of Stanley J. Kordek, of Phoenixville, PA, died late Friday night, March 30, 2012 in the Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Phoenixville, she was a daughter of the late Francis Herbert and Jane (Wade) Smoyer. She was a 1960 graduate of the Phoenixville High School.  

In addition to her husband of 49 years, Mrs. Kordek is survived by three daughters: Susan E. Kordek of Point Pleasant, NJ, Melissa B. Kordek of Phoenixville, Megan J. Kordek of Phoenixville; and two grandchildren; Holly A. Batzel and Darby Grace Kordek. 

Funeral services and burial will be held privately in the Washington Memorial Chapel Churchyard, Valley Forge, PA.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Phoenixville Cancer Center, 824 Main St., Phoenixville, PA 19460.

Happ Pierson Jr., 54

Happ (Howard E.) Pierson Jr., 54, husband of Donna (Trombetti) Pierson of Phoenixville, PA died on Saturday, March 31, 2012 in Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.

Born in West Chester, PA he was the son on Howard E. Sr. and Sue Pierson of Coatesville, PA

He was employed by the Borough of Phoenixville and prior to that he worked at St. Gabriel's Hall.

Happ was a member of West End Fire Company, Friendship Fire Company and Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by daughter Julia Pierson, son John Pierson, daughter Nicole Pierson; four grandchildren: Kateri, Jayden, Alexia and DJ; paternal grandmother Helen Pierson; three brothers and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Adriana

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service from the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 2:30 p.m.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Robert Stephens, 85

Robert P. Stephens, 85, of Phoenixville, PA died on Sunday morning, April 1, 2012 in Abington Memorial Hospital. 

He was the husband of the late Louise (Egolf) Stephens and Ruth (Weber) Stephens.

Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late Alexander and Margaret (Siipple) Stephens.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He was a systems analyst retiring from Penco Products in Oaks, PA and prior had worked at Certain-teed.

Robert was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Phoenixville. 

He was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and bowling. He most especially took pride in his role as handyman, doing what he could to help his family, friends, and church

Surviving are daughter, Robin Stephens of Phoenixville; son, Mark and wife Carol Stephens of Moorestown, NJ; four step-children, Ann, wife of Joseph Kenny of Phoenixville, Barbara, wife of James Vontor of Phoenixville, John and wife Beth Stevenson of Bear, DE, Mary Sigfried of Chalfont; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Taggart of Lancaster.

He was preceded in death by step-daughter, Jane wife of Joseph Sakal and a brother, Harold "Mal" Stephens.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 355 St. John's Circle, Phoenixville, PA on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10:30 am.

Burial will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Chester Springs, PA

A viewing will be held in the Fireside Room of the church on Wednesday from 9 to 10:15 a.m.

Captain John Stusnick, 86

Captain John J. "Jack" Stusnick, 86, husband of Margot A. (Morales) Stusnick and the late Margaret (Redick) Stusnick, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2012 in the Devon Senior Living Center, Devon, PA.  

Born in Edwardsville, PA, he was a son of the late John J. and Josephine (Dobkiewicz) Stusnick. He was a graduate of the Edwardsville High School and the Pennsylvania Maritime Academy. 

Captain Stusnick was a career naval officer, serving more than 30 years in the Navy in engineering aboard numerous warships and aircraft carriers during the Viet Nam war years. He later served in various senior staff positions for the 1st, 3rd and 5th Naval Reserve districts. During his career, he earned many awards and commendations including the Meritorious Service Medal.

He was a member of the St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church in East Norriton, and was a former member of the St. Joseph the Worker RC church in Fallsington, PA. 

In addition to his wife of 25 years, Captain Stusnick is survived by five children: Patricia, wife of Dennis Simon; Joanne Merna; John, husband of Nancy Stusnick; Michael, husband of Betsy Stusnick; Mark, husband of Elizabeth Stusnick; three step-children: Lisa Montalvo, wife of David Boscher; Janet, wife of Sal Villari; Ed, husband of Allison Montalvo; nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  

Captain Stusnick was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel, husband of Joan Stusnick. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Isaac Jogues RC Church, 50 West Walker Road, Wayne, PA 19087 on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 10 a.m.  Officiating will be the Rev. Stephen A. Moerman.  

A private burial will be held in the Washington Crossing Veterans Cemetery on Thursday. Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Campbell–Ennis–Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA or on Wednesday at the Church from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation, Gift Processing Center, PO Box 5018 Hagerstown, MD 21741-5018.
