Andrew Cushman Sr., 63

Andrew J. Cushman Sr., 63, of Linfield, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, in the Montgomery Hospital.  

Born in Swedesburg, he was a son of the late Theresa (Cushman) and Walter Cushman Sr.

Mr. Cushman was a 1967 graduate of Spring-Ford High School and then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed as warehouse foreman for North American Moving and Storage Van Lines, where he was dedicated to his work.

He enjoyed collecting coins, stamps, military memorabilia and eagles. He was a member of the Spring City American Legion, and loved working with his hands, building and remodeling. He enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley, and was a pool shark, but most importantly he was a loving father and grandfather.

Andrew is survived by three daughters: Jennifer, Jessie, and Mindy Cushman, all of Pottstown; two sons: Andrew Cushman Jr. of Birdsboro and Michael Cushman of West Palm Beach, FL; three sisters: Dawn Faust of Gillett, PA, Dianne Cushman of Barto, and Lynn Veasey of Mantua, NJ; two brothers: Clement Cushman of Hughesville, PA and Walter Cushman Jr. of Spring City; and seven grandchildren. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Cattermole-Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington St., Royersford, on Wednesday, Sep. 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. Rev. Paul C. Brandt will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Limerick Garden of Memories. Friends will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1610 Locust Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

Philip E. Russell, 70

Philip E. Russell, age 70, husband of Priscilla J. (Brown) Russell, of Lower Pottsgrove, PA, died early Friday morning, Sept. 2, 2011, in the Manor Care Nursing Home, Pottstown, PA.  

Born in Binghamton, NY, he was a son of the late Earl A., and Helen I. (Moore) Russell.  

He attended school in Bainbridge, NY. Mr. Russell worked for many years as a bookkeeper at the Norristown Ford Car dealership in Norristown, PA. 

In addition to his wife of 42 years, Mr. Russell is survived by three children: Cynthia L. Russell, of Pottstown; Jeffrey A., husband of Maureen McGee, of Virginia; Scott S. Russell, of Pottstown; five siblings: Shirley (Roger) Fletcher, Carole Smith, Katherine (Elmer) Van Gorder, Arthur (Betty) Russell, Ruth (Robert) Wilson, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Williams.

James Mackey, 54

James Theodore Mackey, 54, of Whitpain Hills, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011. He was the husband of Maryann Quinn. 

He was born in Baltimore, MD to the late James G. Mackey Jr. and Patricia A. (Rosensteel) Mackey, of Wayne, PA.

After graduation from Conestoga High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Gettysburg College. Mr. Mackey was a behavioral technician for 32 years at Brooklyn Behavioral Health, Fort Washington, PA. 

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a step-daughter, Nikki Quinn at home; sister, Joanne M. Priem, and husband Robert, of Berwyn; and nieces: Karen, Emily, Kelli and Sarah. 

His funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 763 South Valley Forge Road, Wayne, PA 19087 at 1 p.m.

Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Shirley Grohosky, 65

Shirley Louise (Brower) Grohosky, 65, wife of Richard Grohosky, died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, after a lengthy illness.  

Born in Norristown, she was a daughter of the late Harry C. and Marion E. (Kulp) Brower.

Shirley lived in Spring City for more than 30 years. She loved to play bingo and cards. She loved the shore and the casino and was a diehard Phillies fan. She also loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was expecting another great grandchild.

In addition to her loving husband of 41 years, Shirley is survived by two daughters: Kimberly Klick and Ginger, wife of Wheeler Aman, both of Royersford; two sisters: Marion Rietheimer of Port Providence and Harriet, wife of Francis Blake, of Conshohocken; brother: Robin Kulp of Oaks; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and former son-in-law Robert Klick.  

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Etta Shelley, Judith Evans and Susan Shreves; and one nephew, Anthony Hansen.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at 11 a.m. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Shirley Ann Smith, 75

Shirley Ann (Miller) Smith, 75, wife of Richard C. Smith of Pottstown and formerly of Graterford, PA, died on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011 in Pottstown Memorial Medical Center.

Born in Oaks, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Edith (Schaeffer) Miller.

Shirley worked for Collegeville Flag Company for many years until her grandchildren were born.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three daughters: Robin, wife of Brian Hynes, of Royersford, PA; Kimberly, wife of John Kunz, of Douglassville, PA; Joyce, wife of John Funk, of Casa Grande, AZ;
and a son, Richard L., husband of Kathryn Smith, of Pottstown, PA.

She was a loving grandmother of seven grandchildren: Amanda, Jesse, Kelsey, Leann, Grant, Jonathan and Benjamin.

She is also survived by great-granddaughter Kendall, and a sister, Virginia Bangert of Norristown, along with many nieces and nephews, especially Linda Owad and Mark Smith.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Miller.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 517 S. Main St. at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at 11 a.m.

A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Burial will be in Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, King of Prussia, PA on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at noon.

Brigitta Seitz, 89

Brigitta M. (Maloveczky) Seitz, wife of the late Dr. Jeno B. Seitz, of Pottstown, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, due to her weakened condition following a fall that caused a broken hip and physical complications. She was 89.

She was born in Szentgal, Hungary, the daughter of the late Endre and Maria (Horvath) Maloveczky.

Mrs. Seitz earned her CPA in Budapest, Hungary. The family emigrated to the United States in February of 1957.  

While living in Baltimore, during the 1960 to 1980s, Brigitta applied her accounting talents at an automotive parts distribution company.

Among her activities, Brigitta and her late husband were active members of the Philadelphia and Vicinity Hungarian Sports Club. Brigitta also volunteered at, and baked for, the Saint Padre Pio Shrine in Bally, PA.  

Her family was the center of her life. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Three generations of her family that follow her are blessed to have known her and were able to share wonderful time with her.

She is survived by two sons, Istvan S., husband of Jeanette Seitz of Boyertown, and Jeno B., husband of Agnes Seitz of Bensalem; four grandchildren: Christina Kuter, wife of Steven, Deborah Ward, wife of Brian, Jeno A. Seitz, husband of Tamara, and Endre J. Seitz, husband of Katie; and five great-grandchildren, Charles D. Kuter and Alexander S. Kuter, Jack A. Ward and Aedan M. and Jeno P. Seitz.

Her memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10 at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, Beech and Hanover Sts., Pottstown, where friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the American Heart Association.

Margaret Brannan, 82

Margaret S. (Saville) Brannan, 82, of Phoenixville, PA died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 in Phoenixville Hospital. 

She was the wife of the late John C. Brannan, who died May 21, 2011.

Born in Port Providence, PA she was the daughter of the late Frank B. and Eleanor J. (Blake) Saville.

Margaret worked for Phoenixville Hospital, retiring in 1994.

She was an active member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Phoenixville.

She played in bowling leagues at Phoenix Lanes and Limerick Bowl.

Surviving are daughters: Cheryl Waddell of Jacksonville, FL, and Kathy Oxenreider of Phoenixville; five grandchildren: John and wife Joslynne Johnson of Jacksonville, FL; Andrew and wife Ericka Whitmore of Phoenixville; Kathryn Whitmore and Jason Benjamin of Spring City, PA; Sarah Oxenreider of Phoenixville; James Oxenreider of Jacksonville, FL; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings: Barbara Weber of Phoenixville; Laura Matthews of Crossville, TN; George Saville of Phoenixville; and Raymond Saville of Phoenixville; along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Sharon Whitmore and brothers and sisters Kenneth Saville, Frank Saville Jr., Edwin Saville, Jonas Saville, Donald Saville, William Saville and Eleanor Gonsauls.

Burial will be private.

A viewing will be held on Thursday afternoon from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Marjorie Ann Bucelli, 86

Marjorie Ann (Llewelyn) Bucelli, 86, wife of Nicholas J. Bucelli, of Phoenixville, PA, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 in Parkhouse Providence Pointe, Upper Providence, PA.

Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Rogers) Llewelyn.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Phoenixville.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: daughters Sharon, wife of Thomas Vance of Phoenixville, and Sandra, wife of the late Doug Raggazino, of Mont Clare, PA; and a son, Nicholas Jr., husband of Donna Bucelli, of Phoenixville. She is also survived by sisters Elaine Kramer of Kimberton, PA and Jean Cronis of Baltimore, MD; along with eight grandchildren: Tom and Mai Vance, Tony and Dana Vance,
John Vance and fiancée Cindy, Sam and Lori Raggazino, Joe and Kelly Raggazino, Nicholas, Steven and Jason Bucelli; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers:
Kay, John, Henny and Eleanor.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 604 Main St., Phoenixville, on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John J. Newns officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville.

Mary Yocum, 88

Mary (Peacock) Yocum, wife of the late Howard F. “Cy” Yocum Sr., of Royersford, formerly Oaks, passed away on Sunday morning, Aug. 28, 2011, in the Parkhouse Providence Pointe.

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Nathaniel and Hazel (Wood) Peacock.

Mrs. Yocum was a member of Green Tree Church of the Brethren, where she was active in many of the church’s clubs, including being a part of the Friendly Lookout Class and teaching Bible school. She was an avid card and bingo player.

Mrs. Yocum is survived by one daughter, Barbara Monahan of Royersford; two sons, Howard Jr., husband of Paula Yocum, of Monkton, MD, and Robert, husband of Lynn Yocum, of Allentown, PA; and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eliza Jane Peacock and Barbara Leeds; and one brother, William Oliver Peacock.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at Green Tree Church of the Brethren, 1078 Egypt Road, Oaks, PA 19456 on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at 11 a.m.

Rev. David A. Leiter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Green Tree Church Cemetery.

Elizabeth Cenci, 87

Elizabeth M. Cenci, 87, of Mont Clare, PA, died on Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011.

Born in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth M. (Byus) Cenci.

She is survived by: brothers Anthony Cenci of LaCosta, CA, and Robert G. Cenci of Phoenixville; a sister, Rita Stegeman of Pasadena, CA; four nieces and one nephew: Robin Bruschky of Hilton Head, SC; Lisa Cenci Groh of Chester Springs, PA; Linda Cenci of Miami, FL; Anthony W. Cenci of Pinehurst, NC; and Karen Cenci of New Jersey; along with great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, William Cenci.

Funeral services will be private.
