Rita Galambos, 79

Rita M. (Guida) Galambos, 79, wife of the late Robert J. "Herman" Galambos, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 unexpectedly at home.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Attillio and Margaret (Laurita) Guida.

For many years she owned and operated Rita's Beauty Salon. She then worked at Macy's in King of Prussia until she retired. Most recently she worked part-time at Giant Food Store in Phoenixville.

She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Phoenixville YMCA.

Surviving are sons Steven Galambos of Philadelphia, Mark and his wife Kathy Galambos of Eagleville, PA, and Robert Galambos of Bordentown, NJ; and six grandchildren: Kaitlin, Steven, Ariana, Troy, Bianca and Samantha.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service in the Devlin-Rosmos-Kepp Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 517 S. Main St. at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Phoenixville YMCA, 400 E. Pothouse Road, Phoenixville,PA 19460.

Anne Osterhoudt, 95

Anne (White) Osterhoudt, 95, of Lansdale, formerly West Chester, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, in the Brittany Pointe Estates, Lansdale.  

She was the wife of the late Lawrence J. Osterhoudt, who passed away Nov. 27.

Born in Brooklyn, NY she was a daughter of the late William and Olive (Rasmussen) White. Mrs. Osterhoudt received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from New York University.

She was employed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City prior to her enlistment in the United States Navy. Anne was stationed at Washington Navy Yard, during World War II.  

Anne was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in West Chester. She had a great interest in history and was active in the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Mayflower Society. She had an interest in real estate and decided to obtain her real estate license. Mrs. Osterhoudt loved to play bridge and always had people to her home to play. Family was most important and she was involved in all facets of her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. 

Mrs. Osterhoudt is survived by two sons, Lewis E., husband of Jean (Simpson) Osterhoudt, of Phoenixville and David L. Osterhoudt, husband of Linda C. Fridy, of Soquel, CA; four grandchildren, Sandy, Amy, Ken and Keith Osterhoudt.  

She was preceded in death by one son, “Little Larry.” Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the Jacob Elting Burying Ground, New Paltz, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anne’s name to the Stepping Stone Education Center, 400 Franklin Ave., Suite 250, Phoenixville, PA 19460, www.SteppingStoneEducation.org

Margaret Packer, 93

Margaret M. (Zaengle) Packer, 93, wife of the late Anthony W. Packer of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011 in Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late George F. and Catherine A. (Fincke) Zaengle.

Margaret was a graduate of Germantown High School and Strayers Business College. 

She worked as a Supervisor for Control Data in Audubon, PA, and prior to that, she worked at Bakers Biscuit in Phoenixville.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Phoenixville.

Her family was #1. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, old cowboy movies, shopping and camping.

Surviving are daughter Diane Clements of Irving, TX; daughter Linda, wife of Butch Fields of Phoenixville; five grandchildren, Scott, Tara, Stacey, Michelle and Sarah; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her son, Anthony "Toby" Packer, and her brothers, Charles, Francis, Russell and John Zaengle,  and sisters Marion Joerg and Grace Packer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in St. Ann Chapel, 604 S. Main St., Phoenixville, on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held in the chapel from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Memorial contributions in her name may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church, 502 S. Main St., Phoenixville, PA 19460, or to Seasons Hospice, 700 S. Henderson Road, Suite 225, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
