Evelyn Overstreet, 93

Evelyn M. (Wright) Overstreet, 93, wife of the late James K. Overstreet, of Phoenixville, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, in her residence.  

Born in Newville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Fannie (McClenny) Wright.

Mrs. Overstreet worked with her husband in the family business. She enjoyed reading and gardening, but most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.   

Mrs. Overstreet is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth A., wife of Peter J. Fifer, of Birchrunville; three grandchildren, Andrew P., husband of Kathleen Fifer, Katharine M., wife of Nathan Heess, and Margaret A. Arsenich; nine great grandchildren; and one niece, Geraldine, wife of Jerry Herring.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Vivian Wright. 

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Evelyn’s name to the Seasons Hospice and Pallative Care, 700 S. Henderson Road, Suite 225, King of Prussia, PA 19406.

Lawrence Buckwalter, 80

Lawrence E. Buckwalter, 80, husband of the late Elizabeth (Hiestand) Buckwalter, of Upper Pottsgrove, PA died Jan. 10, 2012 in the Phoenixville Hospital.  

Born in Spring City, PA, he was a son of the late Charles C. and Clara P. (Zollers) Buckwalter.

He attended the former Spring City High School. Mr. Buckwalter retired from the Phoenix Steel Co. after 34 years of service, then worked for five years at Montgomery Hospital.      

Mr. Buckwalter is survived by two daughters, Barbara, wife of William Endrey, of Phoenixville, Cathy, wife of Martin Bradfield, of Upper Pottsgrove; one son, Charles, husband of Mary Grace (Haenn) Buckwalter, of Ambler, PA; four grandchildren, Shelley Endrey, Emily Buckwalter, Jeff Fuhrman, Amy Fuhrman.

Mr. Buckwalter was pre-deceased by one brother, Charles Calvin Buckwalter.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at the Campbell–Ennis–Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at 11 a.m.  

Officiating will be the Rev. David Hyatt. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday morning at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in his name to the Penn State Dance Marathon, which raises money to combat pediatric cancer, c/o Amy Fuhrman, 221 Mervine St., Pottstown, PA 19464.

Elaine Costello, 83

Elaine Dolores (Gilbride) Costello, 83, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 in the Regina Nursing Center in Norristown, PA. She was the wife of the late Louis Charles Costello.

Born in Philadelphia, PA on Feb. 19, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Marie (Snyder) Gilbride. 

Devoted wife and mother of five, she later worked for Allstate Insurance and the Phoenixville Federal Bank.

Elaine was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and the Phoenixville YMCA. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and walking.

Surviving are daughter Elaine, wife of Michael DePaul of Berwyn, PA; daughter Lynn, wife of Ronald Ryyth of Seattle, WA; daughter Eleanor, wife of Jonathon Earl of Charlottesville, VA; son Louis Costello of Phoenixville; son John, husband of Tracy Costello of Phoenixville; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Bernard, John and James Gilbride; and sisters Carol Foti and Margaret O'Donnell. 

She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers Eleanor Gilbride, Marie Washick, Owen Gilbride and Donald Gilbride.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 in St. Ann Catholic Church, Main Street at Third Avenue, Phoenixville, PA at 10:30 a.m.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

A viewing will be held at the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
