Phoenixville Business Owner Dies at 65

Wally Rittenbaugh, a longtime Phoenixville business owner, passed on Sunday.

Walter R. "Wally" Rittenbaugh, 65, of Uwchland, PA and formerly of Phoenixville, PA, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 in Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA.

Born in Phoenixville, PA, he was the son of the late Edwin J. and Helen V. (Taylor) Rittenbaugh. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Wally was the owner of Rittenbaugh's Exxon in Phoenixville for many years.

He was a member of West End Fire Company, Valley Forge Volunteer Fire Company and the Slovak Club in Phoenixville, PA.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hobbies such as painting, photography and stained glass craftsman.

Surviving are three children: Ed Rittenbaugh and wife Chris of Kimberton, PA;Kelly Ann Rittenbaugh of Pottstown, PA Eric N. Rittenbaugh of Parker Ford, PA, as well as his six Grandchildren: Clayton, Kiana, Victor, Jr., Maddison, Tristan and Talia; his former wife, Ruth Ann Rittenbaugh; his loving companion, Joan Potter and his two Sisters: Jane Davis and husband Robert, Sr. and Rosemarie Schrump.

Funeral Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
