Louisa Dussault, 97

Louisa (Garcia-Verdugo) Dussault, 97, wife of the late Luis Camacho, and the late Joseph Dussault, companion to William C. Murphy, of Royersford, PA, died Tuesday evening, Feb. 14, 2012 in the Season Hospice at Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville, PA.  

Born in Madrid, Spain, she was a daughter of the late Manuel and Andrea (Menendez) Garcia-Verdugo. She was a graduate of the West Chester University with a master's degree in Spanish education and a master's degree in Arts in French.

Mrs. Dussault was a former president of the French Alliance of Phoenixville. She was a professor in the foreign language department of the Gwynedd Mercy College for over 25 years. 

Mrs. Dussault is survived by one grandson, Marc A., husband of Elizabeth A. Lattanzi, of Limerick, PA, and two great grandchildren Gabrielle L. and Anthony T. Lattanzi at home in Limerick.

Mrs. Dussault was preceded in death by daughter Luisa (Camacho) Lattanzi, two brothers, Manolo and Andres, one sister, Carmen and four step-sons. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at the Royersford Baptist Church, 452 South Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468 on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Karen Ann Selig.  

Burial will be in the Limerick Garden of Memories, Limerick, PA. Friends will be received from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Saturday morning at the Church.

Mary Kathleen Osting, 89

Mary Kathleen (Scaringi) Osting, 89, wife of Richard C. Osting of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Reading, PA. 

Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Carmella (Brignola) Scaringi.

Mary was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, Class of 1939. She was very active in track and field sports. 

She worked in Quality Control for the West Company in Phoenixville until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Basil the Great Catholic Church in Kimberton, PA.

Surviving in addition to her husband are son Dr. John A. Kotyo of Newtown Square, PA; daughter Mary Ellen, wife of Karl E. Greenich of Sinking Spring, PA; grandchildren: Susan, RN, wife of Dr. Robert J. Tomsho of Sinking Spring; Jonathan Greenich of Sinking Spring; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail and Andrew; two sisters, Theresa, husband of James Fitzpatrick of Phoenixville and Carmella Cisick of Malvern, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Scaringi and Louis Scaringi and her nephew, Monsignor James J. Fitzpatrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass in St. Basil The Great Catholic Church 2340 Kimberton Road, Kimberton, PA, on Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gary T. Pacitti officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held in the church on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Joan Seufer, 53

Joan (Triolo) Seufer, 53, wife of Joseph C. Seufer, of Collegeville, PA, died at home Tuesday morning, Feb. 14, 2012, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  

Born in Bryn Mawr, PA, Joan was a graduate of Conestoga High School and Brandywine College. Joan was a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated her life to her four children. She enjoyed a passion for all things equine and was an accomplished breeder.

In addition to her husband of 30 years, Joan is survived by children Trevor S. Seufer, Ashley R. Seufer, Kiersten R. Seufer and Mikaela G. Seufer, all of Collegeville, parents Joseph and Helen (Fazzini) Triolo of Berwyn, siblings Mariann Brown and son-in-law Frank of Fleetwood, Thomas Triolo and daughter-in-law Beth of Oaks, Linda Triolo of Jeffersonville, and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will have a celebration of Joan's life for family and all of her wonderful friends of the family on Saturday afternoon, Feb. 18, 2012.  Please contact Joan’s husband or any of her children for details. In lieu of flowers, the family hopes to establish an organization in Joan’s name to help improve patient resources for those experiencing her rare form of cancer. John Craner, 32

John J. Craner, 32, of Royersford, PA, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012.

He was the son of John P. husband of Melissa Craner of Royersford and Brenda J. (Spangenberg) Craner, fiancée of Paul Hartline of Barto, PA.

John played the piano, loved to cook and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving in addition to his parents are brother Sean P. Craner of Royersford and sister Samantha M. Craner of Royersford; maternal grandparents: Bertha Spangenberg of North Coventry, PA, and Emil Spangenberg of Schwenksville, PA: maternal grandparents Gene and Linda Kirkner of Phoenixville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John F. Craner and Ruth E. Shaner and his uncle, Robert Spangenberg.

Liza Batzel, 46

Liza Kathleen Batzel, 46, long-time companion of John Ianni of Phoenixville, PA, died on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in Phoenixville Hospital.

Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Moore) Batzel of Phoenixville, and the late Eugene Batzel.

Liza enjoyed cooking, reading, music and cats.

Surviving in addition to her mother are sister Debbie Batzel of Norristown, PA; brother Eugene Batzel of Phoenixville; niece Melissa Batzel; and great-nieces
Olivia Hilton and Aubrey Hilton.

Arlene O'Connor, 67

Arlene J. (Andreoni) O'Connor, 67, wife of Francis C. O'Connor, of Oaks, PA, formerly of the Andorra section of Philadelphia, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 in the Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville.  

Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late A.J. Mack and Vera (Shutt) Andreoni. 

She was a graduate of the John W. Hallihan High School and the Fitzgerald Mercy Nursing School. She was a devoted wife and mother all of her life. She enjoyed the time she spent them and her grandchildren. Mrs. O'Connor served on various committees at the Regency at Providence Community in Oaks, PA.

In addition to her husband of 45 years, Mrs. O'Connor is survived by five sons: Michael C., husband of Marcia Zaruba-O'Connor, of King of Prussia, PA; Robert F., husband of Valarie (Ficalora) O'Connor, of Limerick, PA; Steven J., husband of Kathleen (Elm) O'Connor, of Mechanicsburg, PA; Daniel J., husband of Lindy (Campbell) O'Connor, of Cary, NC; Thomas J., fiancee of Amber Milt, of New York, NY; 12 grandchildren, two siblings: Alan, husband of Jeanne Andreoni, of Virginia and Elaine, husband of Michael Searle, of South Carolina, and many nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at the St. Mary of the Assumption R.C. Church, 212 Dayton St., Phoenixville, PA 19460 on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012 at 10:30 a.m.  Officiating will be the Rev. Patrick T. Brannan.  

Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Conshohocken, PA. Friends will be received from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening or from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday morning at the Campbell–Ennis–Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, PA.

George Allen, 88

George M. Allen, 88, husband of the late Janet E. (Boardman) Allen, of Phoenixville, PA, and formerly of Mt. Laurel, NJ, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 in Atria Woodbridge Place, Phoenixvillle.

Born in Collingswood, NJ, he was the son of the late Roger and Beatrice (Moore) Allen.

George served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was a graduate of Temple University.

He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Moorestown, NJ, and more recently of First United Methodist Church of Phoenixville.

Surviving are sons David Coe Allen of Ocean Springs, MS, and Mark George Allen and daughter-in-law Eve of Douglassville, PA; daughter, Elizabeth Freeze and son-in-law James J. of Phoenixville; grandchildren Chelsea Allen, Justin Freeze, Tyler Freeze, Griffin Allen and Evan Allen.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Chapin.

Joan Yashura, 69

Joan M. (Falini) Yashura, 69, wife of the late John W. Yashura, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012 in Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA.

Born in Phoenixville, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (DiPietro) Falini.

Joan worked as a Payroll Administrator for Phoenixville Area School District.

She was a member of St. Basil The Great Catholic Church, Kimberton, PA.

Surviving are daughter, Wendy, wife of Thomas Pogash of Emmaus, PA; sons John Yashura of Phoenixville and Joseph, husband of Phyllis Yashura of Phoenixville; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson; sister and brother Judy, wife of Sante Piscoglio of Coatesville, PA, and Fred, husband of Karen Falini of Phoenixville.

Michele Grant, 53

Michele Grant, 53, wife of Wayne Halbsgut, of Phoenixville, formerly of Folcroft, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in her residence.  

Born in Darby, PA she was a daughter of the late Joseph James and Mary Ann (Hunter) Grant. 

Michele was a 1977 graduate of Interboro High School and received her degree in Dental Hygiene from Temple University.   

She was a member of Pawling Independent Baptist Church, King of Prussia Ski Club, Brandywine Valley Ski Association and the Phoenixville Area Time Bank. She enjoyed skiing, biking, hiking, traveling and the beach. 

In addition to her loving husband of three years, Michele is survived by her sister, Sharon Grant-DeNofio, wife of Joe DeNofio, of Garnet Valley, PA; two nephews, Ian and Nick Beard; and her beloved dog, Charlie. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service at the Campbell-Ennis-Klotzbach Funeral Home, Inc. Main Street at Fifth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Rogers H. Bowyer officiating. Interment will follow in the Longwood Cemetery, Kennett Square.  

Friends will be received on Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Michael Pesta, 93

Michael Pesta, 93, husband of the late Veronica C. (Panoc) Pesta, of Phoenixville, PA, died on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at home.

Born in Phoenixville, he was the son of the late George and Anna (Kovatch) Pesta.

Michael was a graduate of Phoenixville High School, Class of 1936.

In July of 1941 he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he served in the Mighty 8th Air Force. As a Ball Turret Gunner, he flew 25 missions on B-17 and B-24s. In August 1944 he was shot down, captured, and was held as a Prisoner of War in Germany for one year. He was awarded the Purple Heart and POW Medal. 

He worked at the former Phoenix Steel Corp. 

He was a Sports Reporter for the Daily Republican in Phoenixville. He then worked for the Norristown Times Herald for 36 years as a Court Reporter, and was author of the column, "Courthouse Hill." After retirement, he became executive director of PAEDCO.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Phoenixville, a member of Catholic War Veterans, Brandywine Chapter of the American Ex-Prisoners of War, Caterpillar Club, Veterans of Foreign War Post 1564, Phoenixville Oldtimers Association, Phoenixville Historical Society and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are daughters Melanie Anne Pesta of Phoenixville; Emilie Anne Pesta of Phoenixville; Christine Anne Pesta of Phoenixville; son Mark Michael Pesta and wife Karen of Oxford, PA; grandchildren: Kimberly Anne Pesta, wife of Nick Caton of Brooklyn Heights, NY; Michael George Pesta of Los Angeles, CA and Julie Anne Pesta of Oxford, PA.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Maurin C. Pesta, and his brothers, Raymond Pesta and George Pesta.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville, on Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2011 at 10 a.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 148 Church St., Phoenixville, at 10:30 am with Monsignor John M. Galyo officiating.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Phoenixville.

A viewing will be held at funeral home on Monday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
