Has Kathleen Kane allowed personal feelings to interfere with her Duties as Pennsylvania's Attorney General?

Our Pennsylvania State Attorney General has refused to defend the state against a lawsuit filed by the ACLU. This is not a case of deciding not to prosecute due to circumstances; it is a case of letting a private organization make a mockery of our ratification process.

The title attorney general often describes the chief law enforcement officer in government, whether it be on the federal, state or local level. The attorney general also acts as the country's representative in legal matters and as the lead legal counsel for his government (Clyde Hughes, eHow Contributor).

I am not taking sides on Gay Marriage. One way or another I am indifferent. What I am concerned with is the fact that our Attorney General is refusing to defend our State Constitution. Even if the law says you can’t wear purple pants on the third Tuesday of the month, It is the AG's job to defend the law. She needs to be impeached for refusing to carry out the duties of office. You don't want to fight.. You don't have a choice, IT'S YOUR JOB.

To agree or disagree with the law itself is something else. There are provisions in this commonwealth to repeal such laws. As it stands Kathleen Kane should be made to work or kicked out.  The precedent set by this kind of inaction could be devastating. Has anyone ever seen the movie “Idiocracy?”

Here is the story from the NY Times: http://www.nytimes.com/2013/07/12/us/pennsylvanias-attorney-general-wont-fight-gay-marriage-lawsuit.html?_r=0
