There is always a buzz surrounding the Community Events in Phoenixville. In this post you will find information about First Fridays and the Summer Music Series.
First Fridays are a celebration that occurs in the Borough of Phoenixville the First Friday of each month. Year round, you will find indoor celebrations, such as open galleries, sales and promotions, and special hours downtown. During the months of May through October, there is also an outdoor component to that. As many know, we close the parking lot at Main and Bridge Streets to set up a Main Stage Band and information. Along the streets you will find for-profits and non-profits sharing information about their organizations, and vendors selling hand-made items. There are also musicians sharing the streets, and you may find upwards of ten (10) performers and/or groups playing for the crowds.
During the months of May through September, Main Street will be closed between Bridge and Church Streets, so that you may walk freely to check out those tabling and a band at the top of the street. During the month of October, the 200 block of Bridge Street will be closed for the “Fire Safety”. You will find several fire trucks lining the 200 block with the opportunity to see them up close and ask questions. There will also be fire safety activities for children and families.
In all Borough lots, parking is free from 5:00pm on during First Fridays. Street parking is also available, but with the 2 hour parking limit. Also, during the season, should First Friday be canceled due to weather or any other uncontrollable interference, it will not be rescheduled.
The Summer Music Series will be held all other Friday’s of the month in June, July and August. While there will be no street closures or a Main Stage, there will be great acts along the streets. We look forward to utilizing local talent to create an ambiance in town.
