Accident Snarls Traffic at 202 and I-76 in King of Prussia

If you commute through that area, be prepared for delays.

Route 202 is closed in the area of Gulph road, according to PennDOT and multiple TV News reports.

6ABC/Action News reports that the accident happened just before 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the I-76 westbound ramp to Route 202 in Upper Merion Township.

It appears the tractor-trailer tipped over while navigating the ramp from I-76, spilling the scrap metal over a barrier and onto Route 202. 

Multiple local TV news and radio outlets are reporting that a tractor trailer lost a load of scrap metal on the ramp from Westbound I-76/The Schuylill Expressway to Southbound Route 202 in King of Prussia.

TV News Helicopter shots from the scene showed rescue crews working to pull a woman to safety from a car that some of the metal fell on and partially crushed.

Just before 8 a.m. CB3/Eyewitness News was reporting that the woman had been extracted from the car after more than an hour.

The CBS-3 Report says the road is expected to be closed until at 10:30 a.m..

The King of Prussia Fire Company is leading the rescue effort. The Berwyn Fire Company was also called out at 7:01 a.m. and has a large presence on the accident scene.
