UPDATED: Traffic Light Fixed After Tuesday's Accident

An afternoon accident snarled traffic and brought an ambulance to the scene.

One man was transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident at Starr Street and Nutt Road Tuesday at approximately 2:20 p.m.

A white Ford van collided with the traffic signal facing Starr Street. The driver was taken by West End ambulance to Phoenixville Hospital for minor injuries, according to Phoenixville Police. The driver was mobile and but wasn't feeling well after the collision, according to police.

The airbag in the white van deployed. The van sustained major damage and was towed from the scene by Pejey’s Auto Body.

Following the accident, police were directing traffic at the busy intersection. Traffic snaked down both Starr Street and Nutt Road in the aftermath. 

Phoenixville Police set up temporary stop signs after the van was towed. Repair workers were on their way to Phoenixville to repair the busted stop light as of 4 p.m. Tuesday. As of 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, the light was replaced.
