Armed Robber Hits Kiwi Yogurt Store; Police Seek Information

At noon Saturday, a man pulled out a large gun at this Providence Town Center shop.

A man walked into Kiwi Yogurt Shop at noon Saturday, pulled a gun and left with an undetermined amount of cash.

Upper Providence Township Police are seeking information in the robbery. They were called to the store, located in Providence Town Center on Route 29 and Arcola Road, at 12:05 p.m., according to a press release.

“Upon arrival, [police] were told by employees that a tall, thin white man entered the store, and he had a black computer-type bag over his shoulder,” according to police. “When he entered the store, he pulled a large gun out of the bag and yelled for everyone to get down on the floor.”

Five employees and two customers were in the store at the time. According to Kiwi’s website, the Upper Providence location opens at noon Saturdays.

The employees fled to the rear of the store, and the man followed, according to police. He found the manager there and asked her to open the safe. She wasn’t able to do that.

“He then told her to open the cash registers,” the press release states.

He left with money and got into blue two-door Audi with a modified muffler, according to police.

The robber is described as a tall, thin white man with a pale complexion. He appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s. He was reportedly wearing all black clothes, including black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt that he had pulled up the hood on. He was also wearing dark sunglasses.
