Car Kicking Added to Drug Dealing Charges for Phoenixville Man

Michael Lance caused more than $5,600 to four parked cars, according to police.

Looks like trouble has found Michael Lance again.

The 27-year-old Phoenixville man who was charged with multiple felony drug charges last month after police busted an apparent marijuana growing operation police say he and his twin brother were operating out of their Buchannan Street apartment, was hit with another felony on Tuesday. The crime this time? According to Phoenixville Police he was kicking cars.

On March 23 at approximately 2:22 a.m., police were dispatched to the area of Washington Avenue and Gay Street for a report of three men in dark clothing randomly kicking cars. A block west of Gay, police say they stopped the three men.

In the area of the stop, police say they found a black Jeep with a fresh dent shaped like a work boot, and a green Taurus with similar damage. Michael Lance, one of the three men, was the only one wearing work boots.

Police photographed the damage and took Lance’s boots as evidence, according to court documents.

The next day, police received calls about two borough cars with similar damage. Photos of these vehicles were taken as well.

That evening, when police raided Lance and his brother’s Buchanan Street apartment on an unrelated warrant, officers seized a pair of tan Timberland boots that belonged to Michael Lance, police say.

Police got an estimate for the damage caused to the four vehicles. According to court documents, it totaled mroe than $5,600.

Michael Lance was charged on April 9 with a felony count of criminal mischief, and additional disorderly conduct charges. He faces preliminary hearing on Thursday.
