Charlestown Man Who Allegedly Fired at Police Set to Appear in Court
Daniel Hale Zantzinger, 46, faces multiple charges.
The Devault man who allegedly fired gunshots at police during an August 7 standoff has had his hearing continued to September, The Mercury is reporting.
Daniel Hale Zantzinger, 46, will face charges of assaulting a law enforcement officer and two counts of recklessly endangering another person in district court on September 20.
According to The Mercury (and first reported in The Daily Local News), Zantzinger was involved in an almost four hour standoff with state and local police (including officers from East Pikeland and Schuylkill Township) on August 7 at 2:30 a.m. at his Constant Springs Lane residence after authorities responded to a report of “suspicious condition.”

Police allege that Zantzinger fired at them through an open window and, when they demanded he leave the home, he continued firing. According to the report, he surrendered at 6:22 a.m. No one was injured in the standoff.
Bail was set at $20,000, which Zantzinger posted the day he was charged.
