Crash Snarls Rush Hour Traffic on Egypt Road
No one was injured in a two-car crash on Egypt Road Monday evening.
A car narrowly missed a home in the 1400 block of Egypt Road after being hit by a pickup truck in a rush-hour crash on Monday evening.
No injuries were reported, according to Oaks Assistant Fire Chief Rich Hughes. A 1993 Subaru Legacy received heavy rear-end damage and a Ford F-150 sustained minor damage in the collision, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m. near the intersection of Station Avenue.
There were no passengers in either vehicle, Hughes said. He checked out the brick home to ensure there was no foundation damage. The crash closed Egypt Road between Station and Brower avenues for approximately an hour. A few tractor trailers queued up along Egypt during the closure, unable to navigate a detour.

Hughes said the state Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) was contacted due to concerns about motor oil leaking into a storm drain in front of the home. The amount of oil that dripped into the drain was small, however.
One minor issue occurred as a tow truck took the Subaru away. The truck blew a hydraulic, Hughes said, sending fire officials over to assist. The Ford was driven from the scene.
