Credit Card Bust Gets Local Cop 'Officer of the Year' Award

Ken Smith was named East Pikeland Township's Police Officer of the Year.

Officer Ken Smith of the East Pikeland Police Department was named the township's Police Officer of the Year earlier this month.

According to Chief James Franciscus, Smith was selected for the honor by his peers.

Smith received the award after spearheading an investigation that lead to the arrest of two people who were using stolen credit cards to purchase legal gift cards at the Wawa store in East Pikeland.

Officer Smith received a ribbon for his uniform and a plaque that was presented by Supervisor Ben Campbell.
