June 28: A Pennsylvania State Trooper conducting an Internet investigation discovered that someone was sharing suspected child pornography, and he was allegedly able to download five video files. The source was again traced back to the Charlestown Township address that same day, according to the criminal complaint.

July 6: Chester County Det. Joseph Walton received materials on the investigation from the Delaware County detective. Walton wrote that he viewed the contents of a CD-ROM, which included 15 files depicting “children ranging in age from as young as approximately 5 years old to approximately 10 years old exposing their genitals, performing sexual acts on themselves and others and performing oral sex on adult males.”

July 19: Walton received more information on the investigation from the Delaware County task force. A lieutenant from the task force gave Walton information on the June 28 investigation done by a Pennsylvania State Trooper.

Walton again viewed the files and determined they were similar in nature to those found by Delaware County Detectives, with children ranging from as young as approximately five years old up to young teenagers.

July 21: Walton prepared a search warrant for the Charlestown Township home, and the warrant was carried out later that day.

“William Tyler Wood-Jenkins was interviewed during the search of the residence,” Walton wrote in the criminal complaint. “In the interview William Wood-Jenkins stated, among other things, that he searches for, downloads, possesses and disseminates child pornography. William Wood-Jenkins further advised that he would communicate via chat on the Internet with whom he believe to be minors and obtain naked pictures of them.”

Among other things, investigators seized a laptop and a computer tower from the residence. The county detectives’ forensic unit examined those items, according to the criminal complaint. They found more than 100 videos and images of child pornography similar in nature to the ones found earlier by detectives, the affidavit states. The dates on the files ranged from April 2009 to July 20, 2011, according to court documents.

After the computers had been examined and evidence was gathered, an arrest warrant was issued on Jan. 24, and Wood-Jenkins was taken into custody and arraigned Jan. 25 at 1:25 p.m.

A preliminary hearing for Wood-Jenkins is scheduled for Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. in district court on Bridge Street in Phoenixville.
