Driver in Nutt Road Crash was Drunk, Police Say

The man was on his way home from the Wing Bowl, according to Phoenixville Police.

A Pottstown man who caused a two-car accident on Nutt Road earlier this month was drunk at the time of the crash, Phoenixville Police are reporting.

According to court documents, on February 1, police responded to the unit block of Nutt Road for a two-vehicle accident involving a Rover bus and a Hyundai Elantra. Police say the bus was stopped in traffic when the Hyundai crashed into it from behind.

When police spoke to the driver of the Elantra, Brian Durchin, 35, they noted that he had bloodshot eyes, was slurring his speech, and seemed disoriented. Durchin told police that he had come from the Wing Bowl, and admitted he drank a few beers while there.
