Drug Bust on Morgan St. Yields Three Pounds of Pot, Police Report

According to Phoenixville Police, the defendant also had two loaded handguns.

A borough man is in Chester County Prison after Phoenixville Police found three pounds of marijuana, two loaded handguns, and $1,700 in his Morgan Street home, the department is reporting.

According to court documents, on Jan. 26, Phoenixville Police served a search warrant at the 209 Morgan Street apartment of Michael Brandon Jones, 23. During the bust, police found, in addition to large quantities of marijuana and the two handguns, misbranded prescription pain medication, digital scales, plastic bags used to package narcotics, and several marijuana-smoking pipes.

Jones was arrested, arraigned on Feb. 12, and confined to Chester County Prison when he was unable to post $150,000 bail. He faces a preliminary hearing Feb. 21.
