East Pikeland Police Blotter: Hitchhiker Arrested for Coke Possession

Hitchhiker Arrested for Allegedly Having a Rock of Coke

Police stopped to investigate the suspicious behavior of a man later identified as Frank Magro, 45, on Route 724 near Pikeland Avenue.

Magro was hitchhiking on Dec. 11 at approximately midnight, and police allegedly found that Magro had a rock of cocaine on him. He faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, according to police. Magro was processed and released pending a later hearing.

Drug Possession Charges on Schuylkill Road

A man was arrested for drug possession after police allegedly spotted him driving without headlights on Schuylkill Road.

Brandon Marchegiano, 27, of Phoenixville, was allegedly behind the wheel of a car without headlights in the rain on Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.

East Pikeland Police stopped the vehicle on Schuylkill Road west of Mowere Road and reportedly smelled burnt marijuana coming from the car. Police reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Marchegiano was processed and released pending a Jan. 19 hearing.

Drug Possession Charges on Route 23

Police arrested an 18-year-old Pottstown man after he allegedly had marijuana in his car during a traffic stop.

On Saturday, Dec. 10 at approximately 11:30 p.m., police pulled Cody Vankirk over for allegedly driving at a high rate of speed and having an expired registration. During the stop, police reported smelling marijuana coming from the vehicle and after a search, marijuana was found in the vehicle, according to police.

Vankirk was charged with drug possession and related charges. He was processed and released pending a later hearing.

Assault on Creek End Lane

Police responded to the 100 block of Creek End Lane on Sunday, Dec. 11 at approximately 5:20 p.m. for a report of a disturbance.

After an investigation, Mark Ferguson, 52, of East Pikeland Township was charged with simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats. He was arraigned in Exton and remanded to Chester County Prison after failing to post $20,000 bail.

DUI Charge on Schuylkill Road

Police reported observing a vehicle weaving in the road on Schuylkill Road east of Rapps Dam Road on Dec. 10 at approximately 3 p.m.

According to police, Joel Miller, 37, of Exton, failed several sobriety tests and he was charged with driving under the influence. He was processed and released pending a hearing at a later date.

Burglary on Midway Drive

On Tuesday, Dec. 13 between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., someone entered a home in the 100 block of Midway Drive through a basement door.

The burglar stole jewelry valued at approximately $500, according to police.

Lawn Ornaments Damaged on Kimberbrae Drive

Someone damaged Christmas lawn ornaments on display in the 100 block of Kimberbrae Drive sometime before 1:14 p.m. on Dec. 11.

A string of Christmas lights was cut and some inflatable animals were damaged. The total damage was estimated at $500.

Parked Car Damaged on Ridge Road

Sometime between Dec. 8 and Dec. 11, someone broke out the rear window of a Buick LaSabre parked in the first block of unit road.

The estimated damage was $150.
