East Pikeland Police Blotter: Many Upcoming Hearings

The following arrest information was supplied by the East Pikeland Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Armed Robbery on Durham Court

According to police, three males entered a home in the 1200 block of Durham Court and demanded valuables.

One of the males allegedly poured gasoline on a juvenile victim. The incident occurred on Aug. 5 at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Police arrested Jabir Sims, 18, of Norristown. He’s charged with robbery, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, unlawful restraint, burglary, theft, kidnapping and related charges.

Sims was taken to Chester County Prison and bail was set at $100,000, but was lowered to $50,000, with 10 percent able to be posted. Sims posted bail and was released from prison on Aug. 22.

A preliminary hearing in the case is set for Sept. 22.  

Assault on Peter Dehaven Drive

James Lynch, 18, of East Pikeland, has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 3 after police allege that the East Pikeland teen assaulted another man and caused damage to a computer and a cell phone on July 21 in the 100 block of Peter Dehaven Drive.

Lynch is charged with simple assault, two counts of criminal mischief and three counts of harassment.

Man Charged with Theft

Ryan Bricker, 31, of Pottstown, will be charged with felony counts of theft and receiving stolen property after police allege he cashed a check that did not belong to him.

The charges were filed on July 28 and the alleged incident occurred on Jan. 30.  Bricker has not been arraigned.

Alleged Retail Theft at Redner’s Warehouse Market

Jamie Kohler, 32, of Phoenixville, was cited and released on a charge of retail theft after police allege she stole $84.75 worth of merchandise from Redner’s Warehouse Market, located in the 200 block of Schuylkill Road.

The alleged theft occurred on Aug. 2 at approximately 6 p.m.

The case is awaiting a plea from the defendant.

DUI Accident at Kimberton and Pothouse Roads

Lisa Silva, 51, of Phoenixville, faces driving under the influence charges and a summary traffic offense of following too closely following her alleged involvement in an accident at Pothouse and Kimberton roads on July 16 at approximately 2 p.m.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15.

Disorderly Conduct at the Kimberton Fairgrounds

Michael Drawbaugh, of Palmetto, FL, pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge after police say he was drinking and yelling at the Kimberton Fair Grounds on July 28 at approximately 5 a.m. According to police, Drawbaugh was a worker at the fair.

Alleged Assault at the Kimberton Fair

Edward Cain, 45, of Lampasas, TX, was arrested for assault and related charges on July 30 at approximately 7:15 p.m. after police say he assaulted a woman at the Kimberton Fairgrounds.

Police say that Cain was a worker at the fair. Bail was set at $30,000 initially, and later, the Commonwealth withdrew charges of simple assault and reckless endangerment. A remaining harassment charge was converted to a non-traffic citation, which Cain pleaded guilty to.

Assault Charges Following Crestview Lane Incident

Police responded to the unit block of Crestview Drive on Aug. 7 at approximately 11:25 p.m. following a report of an assault.

Following an investigation, police arrested Douglas Ray, 53, and charged him with two counts of simple assault and related offenses after police say he assaulted another man in a home on Crestview Drive. Ray was taken to Chester County Prison on $15,000 bail, and was later free after posting 10 percent of $5,000 bail following the preliminary arraignment.

A preliminary hearing date has been set for Sept. 15 in district court.

A day prior, on Aug. 6 at approximately 12:45 a.m., Ray was allegedly involved in a one-car traffic accident and charged with driving under the influence and related charges. The accident happened on Coldstream Road, and there were no reported injuries, according to police.

Wheels Stolen on Otts Lane

Between July 29 and Aug. 1, someone removed aluminum car wheels valued at $400 from a business in the unit block of Otts Lane.  

Burglaries of Five Businesses

Between July 28 and 29, thieves broke into five businesses in the 200 block of Schuylkill Road and removed money.

The businesses were Classic Billiards, Taste of the Tropics, Q Cleaners, Merican Oriental Store and Alan Bicycles.

False Information Charges After Traffic Stop

Brandyn Wingo, 26, of Mont Clare, is charged with giving false identification to police and three summary offenses after police say he gave false information to an officer during a traffic stop on Aug. 5 at approximately 1:45 a.m.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15.

DUI Charges on Kimberton Road

Raymond Becky, 50, of Gilbertsville, has been charged with four counts of driving under the influence and one count of reckless endangerment after police say he was intoxicated while changing a tire in the 500 block of Kimberton Road on Tuesday, Aug. 5 at approximately 4:20 p.m.

Police were dispatched for a report of a disabled vehicle and when police arrived, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol, according to East Pikeland Police.

A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 15 in district court.
