Girl, 3, Killed in Tragic Accident at Philly Rita's Water Ice

The little girl was rushed to a hospital, but was pronounced dead.

A 3-year-old girl was killed Saturday afternoon in an apparent tragic accident at a Rita's Water Ice.

The accident occurred at the Rita's at 2829 W. Girard Ave. in Philadelphia, police told The Philadelphia Inquirer.

A security door somehow fell on the child around 4:30 p.m. Saturday, the Inquirer said.

The girl was rushed to Hahnemann University Hospital, the Inquirer said, were she was declared dead around 5 p.m.

The girl's identity was not released. The Inquirer said that the Department of Licenses and Inspections was on the scene investigating.
