Hamilton Free-For One Night Only

He walked into court a free man but left hours later in shackles.

Kenneth Ford Hamilton made bail and walked out of Chester County Prison Wednesday night. Thursday morning he walked in the front door of Phoenixville District Court for a preliminary hearing on 13 felony counts of possessing and distributing child pornography.

Thursday afternoon the 58-year-old Phoenixvile Middle School teacher was led out the prisoner door in the back of the courthouse in shackles to be locked up once again at Chester County prison.

During a brief appearance before District Judge Ted Michaels Hamilton's preliminary hearing was rescheduled for next week.

Even more signiificant for Hamilton was the state's request to have his $250,000 bail denied in the case. The judge granted the prosecution request and Hamilton was sent back to prison to await a preliminary hearing.
