Limerick Patch: Pedestrian Killed in Royersford

A 72-year-old man was killed crossing a Royersford street Tuesday evening, according to .

Samuel Murdock, 72, was coming from a nearby veterinary hospital and was holding a cat carrier at the time when he was struck by a 1996 Jeep Cherokee on Main Street between Ninth Avenue and Lewis Road at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Murdock lived by himself in Spring City. He was crossing the street to get to a bus stop, according to police. The cat was recovered and taken back to the veterinary hospital until it could be released to relatives. The accident closed the road for several hours.
