A 29-year-old Spring City man was arrested at CVS earlier this month after police say he altered a doctor’s note in an attempt to get a prescription of narcotic pain relievers filled.
According to court documents, on Feb. 10 at 1:07 p.m., police were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy at 130 Schuylkill Road after a pharmacist on duty reported that Andre Jamison was attempting to get 30 Percocet pills with a prescription she suspected was forged. The pharmacist added that another pharmacy had called and told them not to fill any prescriptions for Jamison.
Police spoke to the defendant, and inspected the script he carried. The officer said the date appeared to have been changed. Jamison was asked if he had altered the order in any way, and he admitted that he had.
Police later called Jamison’s doctor, who confirmed that the amount of pills on the prescription had been changed, as had the date the order was to be filled.
Andre Jamison was charged with forgery and obtaining controlled substances by fraudulent means. He faces preliminary hearing on February 21.
