Man Charged With Raping Phoenixville Girl, 14

Police detail how the two met.

 

A 20-year-old Delaware County man is facing felony statutory rape charges for having sex with a 14-year-old Phoenixville teen.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed in the court case, the two met through an online dating service. Police say that teen initiated contact with Alexander Stinger of Upper Darby through the website back in "July/August 2012." According to police, the girl told Stinger that she was 14 and "Stinger told her that he did not care about her age."

According to court documents filed by Phoenixville Police:

"Stinger and (the teen) arranged to meet on Joneal Road in Phoenixville. Stinger invited (the teen) into his car and drove (her) to an undisclosed location in Phoenixville. Stinger stopped the vehicle and parked on a side street. Stinger asked (the teen) 'if she wanted to do it?' Stinger started to kiss (the teen) and touched her... on the top of her clothes. Stinger removed (the teen's) shorts and underwear. Stinger partially removed his shorts and underwear and placed a condom on his penis. (The teen) said that Stinger had vaginal intercourse with her."

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed in the case, Stinger confirmed the account to police. Police say that Stinger told a Phoenixville investigator that he had sexual intercourse with the teen "for a short time and then stopped."

Police say "Stinger told (the teen) that he did not want to have sex with her anymore. Stinger said that (the teen) acted immature and he acknowledged that he stopped having sex with her because he thought she could be younger than 17 years old."

Stinger was charged with multiple offenses including Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Luring a Child into a Motor Vehicle, Indecent Assault of a Person under 16, and Corruption of Minors.
