A 49-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested over the weekend after, police say, he attacked an acquaintance in his East Walnut Street home.
Burl Deron Paschall faces charges of felony aggravated assault, simple assault, harassment, and public drunkenness stemming from the April 6 incident.
On Saturday at 9:27 p.m., Phoenixville Police were dispatched to the unit block of East Walnut Street for a report of a fight. According to court documents, at the scene, police found the victim, a male who was bleeding “profusely” from a cut above his left eye.
The victim told police that Paschall had attacked him inside the defendant’s East Walnut Street home. While the impetus of the assault is unclear, the victim told police that Paschall stuck him in the face at least twice and may have struck him with an unknown object, police say.
Police say that after several attempts to contact Paschall, the defendant stumbled out of his East Walnut Street home and onto the sidewalk. Paschall, extremely intoxicated, was taken into custody, police say. He faces a preliminary hearing on Thursday.
The victim was transported to Phoenixville Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
